The Anti-Queens // The Venomous Pinks // Robot Orifice

THE ANTI-QUEENS (Toronto, ON)

A staple of the Toronto scene for over a decade, The Anti-Queens are an ultra hard-working, punked up rock n' roll quartet of super high-powered women who give the male-dominated music industry a run for their money. They've become infamous in their hometown of Toronto for their insanely high-energy, take-no-prisoner live performances.

They have toured across Canada, The United States & Europe as direct support for Danko Jones, Streetlight Manifesto, Cancer Bats, The Planet Smashers, Protest The Hero, illScarlett & Silverstein, to name a few. They are no stranger to the big stage and have rocked festivals including 77 MTL, Montebello Rockfest, Music4Cancer, Rock La Cauze, Pouzza Fest, Park Jam London, Beau’s Oktoberfest, Harley Days Dresden & Weserlieder Open Air in Minden.

The Anti-Queens most recently released their second LP in Spring 2024 - produced by Dave ‘Brownsound’ Baksh (of Sum 41) & Steve Rizun. The band has previously self-released two stellar EPs (Grow Up/Stay Young and Start Running) and released their killer full-length debut on Stomp Records in Fall of 2019.

THE VENOMOUS PINKS (Mesa, AZ)

The Venomous Pinks are an all-female punk band from Arizona who have been making waves in the scene since 2013. The band is known for their intense and energetic live shows, as well as their catchy melodies and brash punk sound.

While every all-female punk band will draw inevitable comparisons to Bikini Kill, few deserve them more and want them less than the Venomous Pinks. They simply want to deliver the most intense, refined, in-your-face, high-energy hardcore punk regardless of gender or background.

The Venomous Pinks have shared the stage and earned the respect of a who’s who of punk rock royalty, including Dead Kennedys, Bad Religion, and NOFX. They have also played at some of the biggest festivals in the world, such as Punk Rock Holiday, Punk Rock Bowling, and BrakRock.

In 2022, The Venomous Pinks released their long-awaited debut LP, Vita Mors. The album perfectly encapsulates who The Venomous Pinks are in 2022: a fusion of unforgettably catchy melodies and brash punk that pushes forth the underlying messages of unity, equality, and positive mental attitude (PMA).

Whether you’re looking for the slick hardcore punk musicianship of shredding guitars, pounding bass, and thunderous drums or the oft-inspiring message of a band capable of bringing generations of punk rockers together The Venomous Pinks are very much what the present and future look like. These ladies will rock your world in every room of the house, clear out to the parking lot. While their energetic stage performance exhibits a “work hard and play harder” mentality, this tight, punchy three-piece’s unapologetic style will ravage your ears with their mix of punk and hardcore.

ROBOT ORIFICE (Kelowna, BC)

KING THIEF // IDIOFAME // DERAILLEUR

KING THIEF (Edmonton, AB)

A fast and fiery punk rock juggernaut, King Thief was born as a musical call to arms for Edmonton’s underground scene in 2019. The band developed their honest and melodic approach to dirty rock and roll riffery throughout the pandemic shutdown, blending notes of post hardcore and modern punk with underscores of 70s arena rock.

Quickly recognized for their energy and technical facility, King Thief’s live performance is described as explosive and engaging – tight and raw, pure focussed energy. The gravelly delivery of Eric Nielson’s lyrics, often rooted in social justice, sit atop the punishing rhythm section that is Darren Chewka’s (Teenage Bottle Rocket, Old Wives) melodic drumming and Nick Kouremenos’ (This is a Standoff, Fire Next Time, Vargouille) bass mastery. Shawn Moncrieff (Choke) and Ryan Podlubny(ex-The Fullblast), both known for innovative and nuanced guitar playing, haunt listeners with adventurously rhythmic chording and inter-weaving lead-line crescendos. If nothing else, King Thief come by their innovative approach to creating art genuinely.

The band has recently completed their debut, full length album, which was released on Thousand Islands records in Canada, Disconnect Disconnect records in the U.K and distributed in Europe through Bearded Punk records.

K-MAN & THE 45S // DANY LAJ AND THE LOOKS // LUSH RUSTY

K-MAN & THE 45s, where Ska meets Rock and Roll. One of Canada’s most well-known and loved Ska bands. Their relentless touring and hyper active live shows keep turning heads.

Their critically acclaimed Self-Titled album came out in 2016 and there’s been no slowing down since (barring the pandemic blip).

Fan favourite songs such as I Don’t Mind and Space Thriller cemented them in the scene while festival plays and relentless touring brought them to the four corners of the globe playing alongside greats like the Voodoo Glow Skulls, The Planet Smashers, The Original Wailers, Big D and The Kids Table, The Slackers levelled up their fanbase and live show.

Festivals, Canadian, US and European tours are all booked and K-Man & The 45s keep moving!

Dany Laj’s heartfelt songs seamlessly blend rock, folk and country elements, without straying too far from the power-pop roots that give the melodies a certain joie de vivre. Sidekicks Dany Laj and Jeanette Dowling are known for their extensive touring schedules and electrifying live shows. Impressively, the band has played over 1000 shows all through North America.

With stories of finding love, cross-country tours, and broken-down vehicles, this album ultimately retains a strong sense of humour and hope, which lies within memorably catchy hooks and intertwining harmonies between Laj and bassist Jeanette Dowling. Dowling and drummer Dusty Campbell as The Looks, Laj’s crack rhythm section, provide a rock-solid foundation and perfect complement to Laj’s quirky pop sensibilities, rendering DANNY LAJ AND THE LOOKS an unstoppable force just waiting to win your heart.

LUSH RUSTY punk rock from the K-Hole.
